Privacy Policy

locAItion is built on a simple principle: your location is yours. This policy describes, plainly, what data the app handles, where it lives, and what we do — and don’t do — with it.

What stays on your device

The vast majority of locAItion’s data never leaves your iPhone. The following are stored locally and are visible only to you:

• Your full location history
• The places you visit and the routines we infer from them
• Trip detection results, including driving events such as harsh braking or speeding
• Photos, notes, and metadata you attach to places or trips
• AI-generated insights and summaries about your travel

We have no copy of any of this. If you uninstall the app, this data is gone with it.

What we transmit, and why

locAItion uses Firebase (operated by Google Cloud) as a real-time relay so the people in your circle can see your live location. The following data passes through our servers:

• Your current location, shared only with members of circles you join
• A device identifier used to authenticate you within your circle
• Place-arrival and trip-completion notifications, so your circle can be alerted in real time

Live location deltas are kept on the relay for up to 7 days; event notifications for up to 24 hours; trip metadata for up to 30 days. We do not sell, rent, or share this data with anyone outside your circle.

Permissions we ask for

When you install locAItion, iOS will ask you to grant the following permissions. You can change them at any time in Settings.

• Location (Always) — required to build your geographic diary, detect trips, and share live position with your circle.
• Motion & Fitness — used on-device to detect driving and recognize trip events. Motion data never leaves your phone.
• Notifications — used to alert you when family arrive at places, complete trips, or send safety alerts.

What we never do

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not use your location for advertising.
• We do not build profiles to share with third parties.
• We do not use third-party analytics SDKs that track you across apps.
• We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.

Children

locAItion is intended for use within families, including children, under the supervision of a parent or guardian who installs and configures the app on the child’s device. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children outside of a circle the parent has set up.

Your rights

You can leave a circle at any time. You can delete the app to remove all locally stored history. To request deletion of any residual relay data associated with your device identifier, write to us at the address below and we will action your request within 30 days.
